The Write Tools: Keep Me Out

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you’ll know that social media isn’t something that holds my attention for long. I don’t feel a need to check the latest posts or even to spend more than a few minutes there at a time. Other authors however, are easily caught up in the social media experience. Even without social media, there are any number of websites out there that can distract you from what it is a writer does; write.

I’ve stumbled across a useful little tool known as Keep Me Out. It is a website that you use to help keep you from visiting a site more than once per set period of time. While it doesn’t stop you from logging on in the first place, it can help keep you out once you have left. When the time to work on you writing (or for that matter anything else that needs your attention), just visit Keep Me Out and leave again. Thereafter, you won’t be able to get back on without warning before the set period has ended.

If you’re the sort who finds that your writing time gets eaten every time you are on a computer with the internet, this tool might go a long way towards helping you in your journey to completion. Hopefully it works well for you.

What are the sites that really seem to consume your time online? Let me know how Keep Me Out works out for you.
