The Write Tools: Book Seer

I know I can’t be the only person who has run into this problem. I read a book that really moves me and immediately go looking for more by that author. What I find is a desert.

Maybe the author never wrote another book. Maybe they died before getting far into their career. Maybe that was something they wrote as an aside under a separate pen name. Whatever the case, at best you find one or two more items by that author.

Well, today I have a tool that is going to let you more readily seek out things in line with the author in question. The tool isn’t perfect, but it at least offers you a direction for finding more of those stories that really inspire your own urges to write.

You’ll find this tool on the website: BookSeer. It’s pretty simple to use. All you do is enter the name of the book and the author. Press the little button and it is going to spit out a few books and their authors back. Most of what the list pulls is going to be somewhat similar to the book you read. Granted, it isn’t going to be the same since every author has a unique voice. Still, it is a place to start.

What’s a book you loved whose author never made anything else? Let me know some of your experiences below!
