As some of you know, I have a Patreon account. At this time, I have made little use of the functions such as blogging, because I already have a blog here. Moreover, it is counter-intuitive for me to fill it with content. Logically, I do want to have things there for those who choose to be patrons. It just feels like throwing paper to the wind and hoping someone catches a page.
I am caught in the catch 22. Without content for patrons-only, there is less draw to be a patron. Without patrons already, it is difficult to decide on what sort of content patrons are going to want out of Patreon that differs from what I already offer here and elsewhere.
That, dear readers, is where you come in. You’re already here. You might even be following my newsletter. You are loyal enough to show up and stick around, so you are who I will turn to. What is it that makes you desire to support an author on Patreon. What sort of content would keep you there?
Obviously, Patreon isn’t my main income, nor do I expect it to be. At most I hope for it to help generate the funds to cover some of the minor expenses associated with my continued writing. That said, it might also fund side projects if people prove to be interested in them. Here are some examples of things I’ve considered offering.
