Fiction Friday – Lingering Memories

Candles in the WindowThe presents are unwrapped,

They had a blast this year.

I watched their faces light,

Filled with merry cheer.

And now the season’s done,

The new year close at hand.

Gone but not forgotten,

Like the touch of a loving hand.

It’s been seven years now,

I’ve watched them grow and thrive.

I love them no less today,

Than when I was alive.

I know they still remember,

My photo’s on the tree.

Just as much as I miss them,

I know they still miss me.
